Terms of Use
Last updated: June 2026
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using M4BConvert (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
The Service is provided free of charge and is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
Use of the service
M4BConvert is a browser-based tool that processes audio files entirely on your own device. No audio data is transmitted to our servers at any point. You are solely responsible for the files you process using the Service and for ensuring you have the right to do so.
The Service relies on third-party browser technologies including WebAssembly and the Web File System API. Performance and compatibility may vary by browser, device, and operating system, and we make no guarantee that the Service will work in every environment.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Convert or distribute audio content you do not own or have no licence to process.
- Circumvent digital rights management (DRM) protections on protected media files.
- Engage in any activity that violates applicable local, national, or international law.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the Service.
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute the design, branding, or visual presentation of M4BConvert without permission.
M4BConvert is designed for use with files you own, have purchased, or have otherwise obtained the right to convert — such as personal recordings, DRM-free downloads, or public domain works.
Your content
Because all processing occurs locally in your browser, we do not receive, store, or have access to any files you use with the Service. You retain full ownership of your content. We make no claim over any file you process.
Converted output files are downloaded directly to your device. Once you close the browser tab, all working data — including any temporary files written to the browser's sandboxed storage — is discarded automatically.
Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any output will meet your requirements.
Audio conversion inherently involves technical variables — codec support, file integrity, browser memory limits — that are outside our control. We are not responsible for any data loss, corrupted output, or conversion failures that may occur.
Because the Service utilises your device's processor to perform conversion work, you may experience high CPU usage, increased device temperature, or rapid battery drain during use. This is expected behaviour and not a defect of the Service.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, M4BConvert and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of files, or device issues.
Your use of the Service is entirely at your own risk.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
We recommend checking this page periodically if you use the Service regularly.
